Sonoma coffee matches its fine vineyards

Visiting Sonoma County in California was a blast. Like any vineyard traveler, the day was filled with wine tasting and glossy faced companions. It was, to say the least, more than pleasant.
Sonoma is known for its exquisite orchards and flavorful wine but there is another characteristic of the region that further livens a wine tour…coffee! Along with its rolling hills and puffy ivory clouds you could smell roasting coffee in the early mornings. This conveniently complimented late night wine appreciation. Savory coffee in all forms helped restart the daybreaks for beautiful vineyard walks.
The two cafes visited were The Redwood Café and the café at Korbell Winery. Of the two, my favorite cup was enjoyed at The Red Wood Café. The morning brews were, to say the least, surprisingly good in quality. The WOLFE COFFEE CO. is responsible for satisfying my particular taste buds.
The two drinks I consumed were a short espresso and a machiatto. At first I had low coffee expectations, but once I caught site of the thick, rich crema coating the sides of my . At that point, I knew my breakfast and day were heading in the right direction. The coffee had a strong rich flavor accompanied by a smoky aroma. Towards the end of the sip the bold flavor ended to a light bitter finish. My espresso was well prepared and delicious. As for the machiatto, it was gentile and sweet (no sugar). The waitress and barista explained to me that the machiatto's rich taste was probably aided by Sonoma's dairy. I found this to be true when my machiatto proved to be rich and creamy almost the extent of smelling like a carmel machiatto.
During my stay, the Redwood Café was a popular café for me to visit. The atmosphere was warm, friendly and the coffee was very satisfying. Towards the end of my trip I left Sonoma county with wine and bags of whole bean coffee. The wine I bought was a gift but the coffee was for me.
